Stop Gun Violence
Many children in our cities are affected every day by the harsh realities of gun violence. To begin a conversation with our youth and young adults, the OAG, in conjunction with Philadelphia District Attorney Lynne Abraham and Philadelphia Police Commissioner Sylvester Johnson, has developed a program to help students work through this serious issue and understand the consequences of gun and gang-related choices. It also addresses the seriousness of straw purchasing.
The presentation features interviews who have had first-hand experience with gun violence - a mother and activist who lost her son; a trauma center director; and agents and prosecutors who have dealt with gun violence cases. There are also interviews with Attorney General Corbett, District Attorney Abraham and Police Commissioner Johnson.
The DVD is designed for high school students and adults.
